UEFA Club Competitions SA (UCCSA) the commercial joint venture partnership of European soccer’s UEFA governing body and the European Club Association (ECA) representative organization, has launched a request for proposal (RFP) covering the commercial rights to its men’s international club competitions.
The RFP, aimed at marketing and sales agencies, concerns the 2027-2033 time period for the slate of competition rights, including those covering its elite-tier UEFA Champions League, as well as its secondary Europa League and tertiary Conference League competitions.
The role is currently fulfilled through 2027 by Team Marketing and Relevant Sports, which were appointed in 2022 for the 2024-27 period (Team holds global rights while Relevant holds US media rights). Prior to that, Team was partner across all territories, includng the US.
UCCSA has set a deadline of July 8 for expressions of interest to be sent to the body, with the sales process to begin in early 2025.
Other UEFA tournaments covered by the deal will be UEFA’s annual Super Cup showpiece match, the UEFA Youth League youth category competition, and the sport of futsal’s Futsal Champions League, which is also organized by UEFA.
The winning bidder(s) will be expected to aid the sale of UEFA’s slate of rights globally, be that sponsorship inventory or media rights, in order to continue to grow UEFA revenue and its distribution across UEFA member clubs.
