All-electric off-road motorsport series Extreme E has extended its broadcast partnership with Swedish commercial broadcaster TV4 in Sweden and Finland for the 2024 campaign.
The deal includes live coverage of the remainder of season four on linear and digital platforms via TV4 Play in Sweden and MTV Katsomo in Finland. This included highlights, previews, review shows, and Extreme E’s magazine program Electric Odyssey.
The 2024 Extreme E season features six Swedish drivers, including current champions Johan Kristoffersson and Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky, as well as series race winners Timmy Hansen, Kevin Hansen, Mattias Ekström, and Klara Andersson.
Meanwhile, former Formula 1 race winner Heikki Kovalainen became the first Finnish driver to compete in the series in 2023, debuting for Jenson Button’s JBXE outfit last season.
Ali Russell, managing director at Extreme E, said: “Both Sweden and Finland are crucial markets for Extreme E and I am delighted to extend our agreement with TV4. Hosting our pioneering racing championship across TV4 Play and MTV Katsomo ensures our broadcast menu remains strong as our fourth season gathers pace.”
Last month, Extreme E extended its broadcast partnership in Chile with free-to-air network Canal 13.
