Formula 1 (F1) motor racing team Red Bull has announced the renewal of its partnership with US software company ANSYS in a new multi-year deal.
The renewed partnership will last through the 2024 F1 season, set to begin on March 2, “and beyond” with more years likely to come.
Ansys is one of Red Bull Racing’s longest-standing partners, having first agreed a deal with the team in 2005 to furnish it with performance computer software with a specific focus on its racing vehicle’s aerodynamics.
Craig Skinner, chief designer Red Bull Racing stated of the continued partnership: "To stay ahead of the curve, we need tools that adapt to changing regulations. Ansys is flexible and keeps pace with industry needs, and we are looking forward to continuing our partnership.”
Skinner also credited Ansys with the success of the 2023 car, which won 21 of 23 races. "Ansys simulation software helped Oracle Red Bull Racing quickly adapt to the new F1 design guidelines last year and positioned us to maintain our technical leadership in a dramatically altered engineering landscape.”
The announcement of the renewed deal came days after F1 rivals Ferrari renewed its own partnership with auto-electronics manufacturer Harman Automotive.
