Emirates, the UAE airline and national flag carrier, has announced the renewal of its partnership with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) governing body surrounding the US Open Tennis Championships.

Emirates will continue as the official airline of the US Open, one of the sport’s four Grand Slam majors, a sponsorship now into its 13th consecutive year.

The airline retains its prominent branding placement across the US Open, which this year will take place from August 26 through September 8 at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York City.

Emirates will also soon unveil its refurbished hospitality suite at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, the centerpiece arena of the traditional US Open venue.

Passengers on Emirates flights will be able to watch live coverage of the US Open on in-flight TVs, and the airline will activate on-site across the Grand Slam to grow fan engagement and association with its brand.

Furthermore, Emirates will collaborate with the USTA on community outreach and charity initiatives, most notably its “Force for Good” campaign which will see it donate to the USTA’s charity foundation to help grow tennis uptake.

Speaking on the deal, USTA chief commercial officer Kirsten Corio called Emirates a “bedrock partner” of the US Open, adding that the USTA is “thrilled to have our partnership continue in ways that will have a profound impact on the sport and in communities across the country.

“We're incredibly proud to have been the first Grand Slam event Emirates partnered with back in 2012, and having seen our partnership grow to elevate the US Open experience in so many new and exciting ways over the years has been especially gratifying.”

Most recently Emirates partnered Wimbledon, completed a sweep of Grand Slam partnerships when it agreed a multi-year deal with Wimbledon back in February to serve as its official airline partner.

In the years since 2012, the airline has gone on to partner with all four majors as well as over 60 ATP (men's top-tier tennis) sanctioned events, including a number of other USTA-organized tournaments such as the Cincinnati, Miami, and Indian Wells Opens.

Other top-line partners of the US Open in 2024, a sponsorship category dominated by the financial industry, are investment bank JP Morgan and commercial bank Chase, both of which are owned by JPMorgan Chase & Co, and credit card and payments giant American Express.
