The MotoGP motorcycling series has extended its media rights deal with pay-TV broadcaster Ziggo Sport in the Netherlands for another five years.

Through a deal unveiled today, Ziggo will continue to provide Dutch motorcycling fans with live and exclusive coverage of all races, qualifying, and practice sessions, as well as the Moto2 and Moto3 series, and the MotoE World Championship.

The deal was struck by Ziggo with Dorna Sports, MotoGP’s organizing body and commercial rights holder.

The previous contract between the two parties was unveiled in mid-2021, running through the ongoing 2024 campaign.

The deal has been announced with this year’s edition of the iconic TT Circuit Assen race in the Netherlands set to take place from June 28 to 30.

Marcel Beerthuizen, Ziggo Sport director, has said: “The interest in MotoGP in the Netherlands is growing enormously … Ziggo Sport is committed to further growing this sport.”

Ziggo has reported increases from 2023’s viewing numbers so far in the 2024 campaign, which began in Qatar in early March and ends in Valencia, Spain, in mid-November.

Dan Rossomondo, chief commercial officer at Dorna Sports, added: “Together, we continue to promote the world's most exciting sport in the country and we can see that clearly paying off in 2024 as audiences soar. With Ziggo Sport, we have a forward-thinking partner with extensive knowledge and expertise, offering top-quality MotoGP content on the various Ziggo Sport platforms.”

Earlier this month, Dorna Sports signed a hosting contract with the owners of the Red Bull Ring venue in Spielberg, Austria. Through that deal, MotoGP will continue to race at that circuit until at least 2030.

In early May, meanwhile, the owners of the Assen circuit also struck a hosting rights extension with Dorna through 2031.
