European mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion Oktagon has agreed a new broadcast deal in Germany with commercial broadcaster RTL.

The RTL+ platform has now secured the rights to the Oktagon 62 event in Frankfurt on October 12.

In addition to the main card, there will be coverage of 11 fights.

Oktagon claims the Deutsche Bank Park event in Frankfurt will be the biggest in its history and attract 58,000 fans.

The European promotion has set its sights on eclipsing the record attendance of its rival, the Ultimate Fighting Championship, which stands at 57,127.

The event will be headlined by the duel between German fighters Christian Eckerlin and Christian Jungwirth.

Eckerlin, regarded as one of the biggest stars of the international MMA scene, is the welterweight and middleweight champion of several German organizations.

Another key bout will see Kerim Engizek fight for the middleweight title against the current champion Patrik Kincl.

Oktagon, which began hosting events in Central Europe, mainly the Czech Republic and Slovakia, has been branching out into other European markets over the past year, primarily Germany where it is a common fixture.
