Mello Yello to continue powering NHRA's top drag racing series
Mello Yello, the soft drinks brand owned by Coca-Cola, has extended its long-running title sponsorship of the top series of US motor racing’s National Hot Road Association.
The new agreement for the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series runs until the end of the 2023 season.
Coca-Cola’s association with the series dates back to 2002, and the name of Mello Yello, the citrus-flavoured brand, has been incorporated in the title since 2012.
The deal is set to be formally announced today at the Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, which is hosting the Chevrolet U.S. Nationals, with the presentation of a new and exclusive car design for the Matco Tools Toyota dragster of points leader Antron Brown, prominently featuring the Mello Yello brand.
NHRA president Peter Clifford said: “The Coca-Cola Company is an important part of the continued success of NHRA drag racing. Over the past 16 years working with The Coca-Cola Company, we’ve witnessed firsthand the organisation’s dedication to its mission to offer refreshment and inspire happiness. Our fans, drivers, teams and partners love the ingenuity that this relationship continues to drive.”
