nc+ teams up with Grupa Onet-RAS Polska to launch new digital sports platform
nc+, the Polish satellite television broadcaster, is planning to launch a new sports platform after pairing up with Grupa Onet-RAS Polska, the Polish media group.
Canalplussport.onet.p will offer a range of content from nc+’s portfolio of rights, which includes soccer’s Uefa Champions League, Europa League, Polish Ekstraklasa, handball’s EHF Champions League and golf’s European Tour.
The platform will also carry magazine shows and editorial programmes from the broadcaster as well as behind-the-scenes footage from sports competitions.
Lukasz Widulinksi, the editor in chief of Grupa Onet-RAS Polska’s sport services, said: “The nc+ platform is a natural partner for us, and we already realise such projects like Lotto Ekstraklasa and PGE Ekstraliga together.
“Thanks to this cooperation, we are expanding our offer with further competitions such as the Champions League, the Europa League and the Spanish Cup, as well as top-level publicity material. Our proposal for users becomes complete in terms of sports rights, as we work with the largest television stations on the Polish market. Grupa Onet-RAS Polska is today the only entity to provide such a wide range of offerings”.
nc+’s latest offering follows its announcement last week that it was launching a new television channel, 'Canal+NOW', which will showcase major sports events and will be available to all subscribers of its premium packages.
